Move over Anna Wintour, the most anticipated night of the year has arrived... Union Awards 2024!
Students arrived in style on the red carpet, ready to embrace the glitz and glamour of the night. This year’s theme encapsulated everything fabulous about award shows and the Entertainment Capital of the World; Hollywood Glamour.
The evening began with a red carpet and reception to start the evening with elegance. You could feel the buzz as guests posed for photos, enjoyed a cocktail and socialised before the main event.
After everyone took their seats in the hall, ready for the ceremony, the dazzling hosts took to the stage to introduce the night. The evening’s hosts were, of course, your Sabbatical Officers; Maisie, Yash and Ayan. The energy was on fire as the crowd got ready to celebrate everyone’s achievements. The room was full of students that are part of the UWLSU community in countless ways. Seeing everyone come together was a feeling that can only be described as family.
Throughout the night attendees enjoyed a stunning three course meal, prepared by our very own UWLSU catering team. This elevated the night from a show to a first-class experience.
The first awards presented were for Society and Sports Team members who shown their unwavering dedication to their group and those groups that made an impact. From committee members to social members and brand-new groups to long-standing teams, these awards represented those who truly stand out. Take a look at the winners:

Course Reps spend countless hours collecting your feedback, communicating updates and working side-by-side with staff to make a difference to your academic experience. We can’t thank them enough for their commitment to creating a better UWL. To round off the night were the awards everyone had been waiting for; Society and Sports Team of the Year. These recognise a Society and Sports Team that have outdone themselves over the past year and provided an incredible experience for their members.
