UWL Rugby Volunteer for Movember

Movember is all about raising awareness for + supporting men’s health. This year, UWL Men’s Rugby came together with the Volunteering Team to put on an event to give members a chance to try a new activity, that could benefit their wellbeing.

UWL Rugby headed down to a local park to help maintain green spaces in the community. This means doing some exercise as well as being out in nature! The team came up with this idea as they know firsthand the struggles that students face and wanted to help people to find new ways to support their mental health & wellbeing.

“Big thanks to the VTeam for having us down to help out with the Ealing Park Rangers. They had us ‘working’ hard despite the weather! We had a great time tidying up Lammas Park for the local community to enjoy” Luke Johnson, UWL Rugby Club Captain

This initiative was brought to life by Rugby committee members Luke & Asa, along with the amazing support of the Volunteering Team, who helped to organise the whole event. The Ealing Park Rangers kindly welcomed the Rugby Team into the park & guided the volunteering sessions. They saw a great turnout, with everyone getting stuck into the park maintenance.

We want to say a huge well done & show our appreciation to UWL Rugby & the Volunteering Team for putting on such a great initiative that supports men’s mental health as well as the community!
