That time of year has come around again and we are busy preparing for Varsity 2026... but what is Varsity, when exactly is it happening and what can you expect from it?

Varsity is the biggest sporting event of the year and is when we see UWL's sports teams go head to head with teams from a different university.

This year, UWL will be hosting Varsity and we will be going up against UCFB (University Campus of Football Business) to compete in a variety of sports. At the end of the day, there will also be a performance from our Cheerleading team in the final, keeping the energy high.

Varsity Timeline:

Varsity will be taking place on the 13th and 15th of April this year and we will be kicking things off at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub on the 13th, with badminton at 6pm and men's basketball at 8pm. Then, on the 15th at Ealing Trailfinders, you can expect:

  • Football (2nd team) at 10:30am

  • Football (women's team - 7 a side) at 12:15pm

  • Netball at 1:15pm

  • Football (1st team) at 1:15pm

  • Cricket (Nets) at 2pm

  • Table Tennis (top floor bar) at 2pm

  • Cheer (GOH) at 4pm

  • Rugby (men's team) at 4:15pm

  • Cheer (Half Time) at 5pm

  • Finish: 6pm

And the fun doesn't stop there! We will be hosting a lively after-party at Freddie's where you can socialise and celebrate with the sports teams. You can purchase your after-party tickets alongside your day tickets for entry to guarantee a spot.

There is also an option to buy a £5 spectator ticket, which includes a free bus service running from the UWL bus stop on St Mary's Road to Trailfinders.

We can't wait to see you there - come along and show support for UWL's sports teams and grab your tickets here! 🥇
