At UWLSU, student experience comes first and ensuring that we represent the academic interests of students underpins all of our work.

This year, 89% of our students agreed that we effectively represent their academic interests, which is an achievement we are very proud of.

This achievement belongs to every member of our team, our elected officers, student reps, volunteers and most importantly, our students.

It has been a fantastic year and here are some of our key achievements from 2025/26:

UWLSU WRAPPED: Sports and Societies edition

Sports and societies are a big part of the SU and an important aspect of uni life. As well as academic achievements, university is a time where many people find their interests, meet likeminded people and understand themselves more as people.

This year, there were:

• 89 student-led events

• 6400+ event tickets sold

• 947 society members

• 549 sports team members

• £4,828 fundraised for charity

• 66 fixtures played

UWLSU WRAPPED: Advice edition

As well as the fun stuff, one of the important roles of UWLSU is providing a free, confidential advice services that all students have access to. We ensure that you won't face anything alone and help with things such as: experiencing difficulties with submissions, completing applications such as appeal forms, or navigating academic panels.

This year:

• 840 students used the UWLSU advice service

• 1,331 students engaged with us during 'Advice on Tour' campaigns

• 673 students attended wellbeing events put on by the advice team this year

UWLSU WRAPPED: Course, Community and Career Enhancement edition

At UWLSU, we support your academic experience by providing opportunities for you to learn and develop outside of the classroom, in ways that enhance your studies. Throughout the year, we run CEA's, which are Course, Community and Career Enhancement Activities.

This year:

• We engaged 6,721 students in the activities we ran

• We delivered 131 activities this year

• Career-related activities increased to 75 this year from 33 in the previous year.
